John Gannon

President & CEO
John Gannon serves as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Blue Spark Technologies since 2011. Mr. Gannon brings with him a deep understanding of the technology industry, as well as the energy and drive that is leading Blue Spark Technologies into the commercialization of its innovative, patented products. John is also co-inventor of Blue Spark’s flagship medical device TempTraq®.

Mr. Gannon began his career as an engineer in the aerospace industry working for General Electric’s Astro-Space Division. Following his time at General Electric, he worked in the field of currency derivative trading working for Merrill Lynch in New York and Barclays Capital in London. He is a founder and general partner of venture firm SunBridge Partners. He has been the CEO of Blue Spark Technologies for over 10 years. Mr. Gannon obtained a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.

Matt Ream

Executive Vice President, Marketing and Innovation
Matt Ream currently serves as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Innovation for Blue Spark. Joining in 2007, Mr. Ream is responsible for worldwide marketing and product innovation for Blue Spark Technologies. Responsible for creating, defining and implementing Blue Spark’s go-to-market strategy. Mr. Ream is an accomplished hi-tech marketing and business development professional with deep domain experience in online marketing, branding, product management, social media, strategic planning, creative development, and sales promotion. Mr. Ream is also co-inventor of Blue Spark’s flagship medical device, TempTraq®.

Prior to joining Blue Spark Technologies, Mr. Ream spent almost two decades in high-tech marketing and business development, with the majority of that time in the IoT and radio frequency identification (RFID) industry. Most recently, he held senior RFID market and business development positions with Zebra Technologies Corporation, a leading provider of RFID and location solutions. He also led RFID product management for Omron Electronics. Mr. Ream holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from DeVry University.

Ruth Phillips

Vice President, Medical Affairs
Ruth Phillips serves as the VP, Medical Affairs of Blue Spark Technologies. Ruth has over 20 years’ experience as a healthcare provider in the Oncology setting. She has worked extensively with digital health and data science organizations to ensure successful development and launch of platforms supporting patient care.

Ms. Phillips began her healthcare career at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, caring for both medical and surgical oncology patients. Ruth found that incorporating innovative ideas improved patient outcomes when implemented correctly. As a result, she developed a passion for finding new and innovative ways to help patients. She left Fox Chase to train and encourage other healthcare professionals to find opportunities to incorporate new learnings into the care they provide. Ms. Phillips holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Pensacola Christian College and an MS in Healthcare Communications from Boston University. Ruth is a frequent guest speaker on healthcare innovation and data science.

Jon Eager

Vice President, Software
Jon Eager leads the Software team which develops and implements software solutions for TempTraq in the clinical market globally. Joining Blue Spark in 2013, Mr. Eager contributed to the development and launch of TempTraq® in the clinical market.

Mr. Eager’s professional experience includes engineering, marketing, and general management working in the portable battery industry for General Electric and Energizer. Prior to joining Blue Spark Technologies in 2013, Mr. Eager managed Energizer’s rechargeable battery business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and subsequently led global business-to-business marketing for Energizer. Mr. Eager holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

Dr. Frank Feddrix

Vice President, Operations and Battery Technology
Frank Feddrix serves as Vice President of Operations and Battery Technology. Dr. Feddrix manages operations for the production of Blue Spark’s medical devices, batteries and industrial products. Dr. Feddrix is a collaborative, innovative and influential leader who has extensive experience in taking new products from conception through production to commercialization. He is an inventor on nine U.S. patents including those on printed batteries that formed the basis for Blue Spark Technologies.

Dr. Feddrix earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University, where he also completed his undergraduate studies. Upon graduation from CWRU, he hired into Eveready Battery Company (Energizer) as a senior electrochemist and progressed through technical and managerial positions, culminating in a senior leadership role of R&D, Engineering and Operations at Energizer Holdings Inc. After a 27- year career at Energizer, Frank joined Blue Spark Technologies.

Ed Panek

Vice President, Quality and Regulatory
Ed Panek brings over 20 years of quality and regulatory experience in the development and manufacturing of medical and industrial products and a deep domain experience with ISO 9001, 13485, 14971 and 21 CFR 820. Ed has experience internationally with the MDD and MDR in Europe as well as medical device regulations in Canada, the UK and Australia. Ed is a member of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS) and advises and moderates on numerous international quality forums regarding medical devices.

Prior to Blue Spark, Ed designed and implemented customized quality systems for research at the Cleveland Veterans Administration Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals. Ed served 6 years in the United States Navy as a Radar and Waveguide Repair Electronics Technician E-5 and is a Gulf War veteran.
